MANLY ANTIQUE CENTRE
I love these signs - they're so unusual and
such fabulous pieces of social history.
They are both really glossy photographs of a
man and a women from the 1950s dressed for an
evening out at 'the local'to enjoy a 'quiet one'
- the woman in the Ladies bar of course,
not with the men in the public bar! God forbid!
The photos have been mounted with a metal
backing and have been sort of padded to give
a 2D effect - hard to explain.
The back has brown paper on it and an attached
cardboard 'easel' support so it stands up
nicely on the bar counter top.
This listing is for Truman's Best Stout.
(The man gets the 'Best' one of course).
They both measure 30cm x 21.5cm
Condition is not perfect but not bad either.
A little bit of discolouration around the edge
in places, the brown paper on the back is
a discoloured and the easel has old sticky
tape on it.
The glossy surface is a little marked from age
but still very presentable.
They are such fun and quite rare.
