VICTORIAN BURR WALNUT
This beautiful piece of craftsmanship is probably ond of the
best examples of its kind we have had the privilege of owning.
Mid 19th century in date this magnificent credenza boasts
some of the most stunning burl walnut grain I have ever seen.
With fabulous pierced fretwork serpentine end doors lined with what
looks to be the original purple silk the whole piece of furniture is
a study in form and movement.
The marble top is also ornatley shaped to suit the base below -
something not seen on the average versions of these credenzas.
Overall the condition is wonderful and has been well cared for
over the past 160 years or so.
The only fault we can find is a piece of the curling scroll work on the left side of
the mirror is missing (as shown in photos).
You don't notice it generally and I only saw it because I was taking
closeup photos of that section - never noticed it before.
