This is as about as good as Satsuma Thousand Flower decoration gets.

This Japanese coffee set dates to the first quarter of the 20th century.

Each piece's decoration is divided into 2 sections.
The main section is intricately decorated with hand painted flowers
all of which have then been over-gilded to highlight each delicate
bloom and to give each piece this incredibly opulent look.
The remaining section is a simple yet elegant plain glossy cobalt blue enamel
that offsets the profusion of colourful flowers perfectly.

This Satsuma is known as a Thousand Flowers
or Mille Fleur is the French term.

The set consists of a coffee pot with lid, a milk jug with lid,
6 demi-tasse cups and 6 matching saucers.

Condition is generally good but does vary between each piece.
Most of it is in good USED antique condition with no damage as such,
just age crazing to the clear glaze finish.
Some of it is slightly discoloured as this set has been used.
The gilding also shows signs of handling to the handles and
coffee pot spout in particular.

The coffee pot is in very good used condition with no chips, cracks
or restoration and only some glaze discolouration to the
inside and base.
It measures 16.5cm (6 1/2") high with the lid on.

All the cups are free of damage and have varying degrees of
crazing as shown but none of them are badly crazed. The cups measure
6cm wide and 5cm high.

One saucer has been broken and glued back together as shown in photos but
not obvious from above as can be seen in the photo under the one
showing the break from underneath. The rest look good and measure 11.5cm
across (4 1/2")

The milk jug itself is undamaged but the lid which is a little
ill-fitting has a small shallow chip as shown in photos.
It measures 8.5cm high with lid on.
