SATIN GLASS VASE
This is one of the best and biggest pieces of Mary Gregory
glass that we have ever seen.
This large vase measures 27cm (10 1/2 inches) and 18cm across.
It is also unusual because the body of vase is made in satin glass
rather than the normal cranberry or ruby glass that most Mary Gregory
glass is made in.
The painting is of a boy and girl walking and flirting I think
in the countryside picking flowers.
It is a late Victorian example of Mary Gregory and is most
likely a middle European piece of glass.
There is no damage, only faint marks on the satin glass
here and there which is what happens to this exquisitely smooth
and silky glass over the years from just general handling.
This is a WOW piece - which is what everyone has
said who has seen it so far - WOW! What a stunning piece!
It is the largest piece of a collection of Mary Gregory and
Victorian glass in general that we recently purchased so
keep and eye out for more pieces as I list them.
