MANLY ANTIQUE CENTRE
AUSTRALIAN CEDAR CHEST OF DRAWERS
This chest is an Australian Cedar Collector's dream
It dates to the late Victorian period and has never been re-finished
or restored in all the years of its existence so it maintains
total originality (we have put a loving coat of wax on it to
nourish its thirsty timbers but that is it).
It is an eight drawer chest decorated with cotton reel pillars on each side.
The natural fading has turned the cedar grain into almost a zebra pattern
although the camera flash has exaggerated this to a much greater degree.
Two of the photos are without the flash and are closer to real life.
If you did decide to refresh its finish with French polish it would
become shiny like the photos taken with the flash.
There are some lumps and bumps and a slight separation of timbers
on the top (as shown) but overall condition is very good and ORIGINAL!
It measures 116cm wide x 137cm high x 59.5cm deep
You won't find one much better than this particularly at our
more than reasonable price
