1950s 'AMERICAN' 21-A6 BAKELITE
110 VOLT
VALVE RADIO FROM THE USA

Part of a huge collection of early to mid 20th century radios and radiolas
we have recently purchased.

Condition is very good overall but each radio will have the odd furphy at
least so see complete description below and check out the photos.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

1940s AMERICAN 21-A6 bakelite valve radio.
Obviously from the USA and so has an American
power plug for their 110 volts.
NOT COMPATABLE WITH OUR 220 VOLT SYSTEM WITHOUT A TRANSFORMER
(which you can buy from J Cars for about $40.00).
It has a 'spider web' antennae on the back (see photo)
which is a thing of beauty all on its own.
The whole radio looks like something straight out of Grease (the movie)

SERIAL NUMBER: 450908

CONDITION:

Tested and working

Case is in excellent vintage condition with only 2 TINY hairlines
around the dial - one near the left control knob and the other
above the top right corner of metal dial frame (see photos).
Both only a few millimetres long.
Another long hairline underneath on the base (see photos) but of
course not visible when in normal upright position.
Other than this the case is glossy and gorgeous.

The decal on the front that says AMERICAN is rubbed and hard to read.

The station dial is in excellent condition and proudly proclaims
it was MADE IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
It has a glass dial cover in excellent condition.
