MANLY ANTIQUE CENTRE
BREAKFRONT THREE DOOR WARDROBE
** The top pelmet was not sitting on top properly when photos taken
but in actuality sits flush with no gap **
A more handsome example of a Victorian breakfront wardrobe would be hard to find.
This magnificent piece of functional bedroom furniture dates to the
third quarter of the Victorian period.
It is 'fronted' in stunning ribbon mahogany with the rest of the carcass
made from slightly straighter grained mahogany & pine back boards etc.
A dash of carving at the top of the mirror finishes it of with a flourish.
The woodwork is in excellent condition as apparently it was restored approximately
20 years ago but the original mirror was not touched and shows it age with
some minor signs of ageing which is a nice feature.
It is a three door robe with long hanging throughout and an internal
single draw in the base of section for extra storage.
It measures 190cm wide x 66cm deep (centre) x 228cm high.
The two side sections are 55cm deep which allows easy use of modern coat hangers.
The centre mirrored section is 66cm deep so that's a no brainer.
Strangely enough Victorian robes are deeper than their later Edwardian
counterparts and as such much more functional for modern day use.
These enormous wardrobes are made in several sections for easy transportation
and definitely NO allen key required for re-assembly - just slot it back together
and itís ready to go for another 150 years.
