MANLY ANTIQUE CENTRE
The skirt and dress coat of the gentleman are Latticino or ribbon glass
A stunning but difficult and expensive manufacturing technique for which Murano is renowned -
as is the gold flecking in their bodies, faces and his legs.
There are also white opaque details emphasising their 18th century costumes -
their tricorn hats, the ruffles of their sleeves, her bodice and his knees as well as their hair
(which I presume are the powdered white wigs everyone wore in this century) and their round bases.
They appear to be wearing masks and their dress is what is traditionally worn for Venice's
famous (or infamous) yearly masked Carnivals.
They man stands 20.5cm high and the woman just slightly less.
They are gorgeous in real life - I hope my photos give a small indication at how delightful they truly are.
