SORRY, I'VE SOLD!
This classic Australian cedar tilt top breakfast table has been together with the pictured set of Lenehan
chairs (also listed) for a long, long time - but no one now living knows for how long
It is a tilt top table (not shown in photos) and therefore was originally a breakfast or occasional
table - the idea being of course that it is tilted up and put away in a corner until required.
It has been used a dining table in recent memory with the Lenehan chairs and although it is
low (71cm high) because it doesn't have an apron around the edge like a dining table usually does
you can sit comfortably at it (unless you're ten foot tall of course) p>
The table is in lovely condition and the grain used throughout the piece is glorious
There is nothing like old cedar!
It measures 150cm in diameter and as mentioned 71cm high
It was valued for 'Replacement and Reinstatment' by MGS Turners Valuations in 1995 for $4,750.00
Turner's valuation just lists it as 19th century but it would date to the mid 19th century
and more specifically to around 1860.
