PRETTIEST ORIENTAL CAMPHORWOOD CHEST

This is one of the prettiest camphorwood chests we have ever had.

Not only is it beautifully carved with flower borders the top
front and sides of the trunk has ebonised panels that has a hand
painted background scene with applied Geisha girls all doing different things.

This is most unusual decoration for a camphorwood chest as
they are mostly just carved and thats it.
The figures have carved mother-of-pearl and paua shell kimonoes
and their faces, hands etc are a composite material on which their
lovely faces and hair have been hand painted on.

The applied figures are all in very good condition as is the chest itself.
No problems to report.

The interior is of course camphorwood so it is the perfect piece to store
all your winter woolies or bedclothing in when not in use.
It also still retains the original sliding drawer in the top which is handy.

The body of the trunk measures 101cm wide and a little wider with the feet.
The depth is 55cm at the feet (so the body is a little less than this)
and the height is 77cm.
