MANLY ANTIQUE CENTRE

VICTORIAN FLUTED CRANBERRY & MILK GLASS EPERGNE

Prettier-as-a-picture Victorian fluted flower epergne.
An epergne is to hold short stemmed flowers from your garden.
Would typically sit as a table centrepiece for a dinner party.
Can't imagine why anyone would want to live in a modern,
sterile interior when there are beauteous items like this
that still survive from an era of elegance and class.

There is a flake of glass off the base of the 'trumpet'
that fits into the hole of the fluted base so it is
NOT VISIBLE
except when you take it out to clean etc and then
it's not obvious anyway.
Otherwise it is in excellent antique condition.
It has a slightly ground pontil to the base showing
that it is a hand blown piece not pressed glass.
It looks like something Fenton glass would have copied
in the 20th century but this is definitely a hand blown
piece of glassware not molded as Fenton is.

Our lovely epergne comes apart for cleaning and storage
and stands 28cm (11 inches) high.
